At the age of just 17, Tanya Smith began her health and wellness career as an instructor at one of the most prestigious fitness centres in the heart of Sydney. Tanya’s passion, enthusiasm, and love of health and movement saw her quickly advance into management and coordination roles.
Tanya’s health and wellness journey then took her overseas where she taught and presented health and fitness in America and France.
Revitalised and feeling a huge sense of achievement, Tanya returned to Australia and realised her dream of opening her own yoga and pilates studio at Shellharbour – Shell Cove. Her down to earth teaching style – which focuses on building a strong foundation in both a person’s mind and body – has helped Tanya attract and keep a loyal group of students.
However, Tanya wasn’t finished there. Her penchant for bringing nature and community together saw Tanya open an outdoor yoga class at the pristine Killalea National State Park (The Farm).
With some of the best beaches on the NSW coast, as well as beautiful rainforest areas, Killalea was the perfect setting for Tanya’s class, which has seen thousands of people of all ages and from all over the world turning up to practice and share their love of yoga together.
Tanya’s resume includes Yoga, iRest Yoga Nidra, Mat Pilates, Reformer Pilates, Functional Range Conditioning, Kinstretch, CHEK Holistic Coach.
Her extensive experience and in-depth studies of yoga, pilates and meditation – with over 500 hours of training – place Tanya in the best position possible to deliver unrivaled yoga and pilates masterclasses.
Yoga is amazing because of its unique ability to let you tune in, chill out and get fit – all at the same time. It makes you healthier in mind, body and spirit, and connects all three in a way that simply makes you feel better. The postures, breathing exercises and meditation all combine perfectly to improve your health, relieve stress and boost your physical fitness. That’s why I love yoga…
